Casimir effects of nano objects in fluctuating scalar and electromagnetic fields: Thermodynamic investigating
Casimir entropy is an important aspect of casimir effect and at the nanoscale is visible. In this paper, we employ the path integral method to obtain a general relation for casimir entropy and internal energy of arbitrary shaped objects in the presence of two, three and four dimension scalar fields and the electromagnetic field. For this purpose, using Lagrangian and based on a perturb...
متن کاملGravitational Collapse of Homogeneous Scalar Fields
Conditions under which gravity coupled to self interacting scalar field determines singularity formation are found and discussed. It is shown that, under a suitable matching with an external space, the boundary, if collapses completely, may give rise to a naked singularity. Issues related to the strength of the singularity are discussed.
متن کاملQuantized bulk scalar fields in the Randall-Sundrum brane model
We examine the lowest order quantum corrections to the effective action arising from a quantized real scalar field in the Randall-Sundrum background spacetime. The leading term is the familiar vacuum, or Casimir, energy density. The next term represents an induced gravity term that can renormalize the 4-dimensional Newtonian gravitational constant. The calculations are performed for an arbitrar...
متن کاملA Scalar Representation of Electromagnetic Fields
I t is shown that in a region which is free of currents and charges, any electromagnetic field may be rigorously derived from a single, generally complex, scalar wave function V (X , t). I n terms of this function the momentum density g(x, t) and the energy density w (x , t) of the field may be defined in such a way that they are represented by expressions analogous to the formulae for the prob...
متن کاملScalar Representation of Electromagnetic Fields : IIIt
The transformation properties of the single complex quantity, introduced by Green and Wolf to describe the electromagnetic field, are investigated and the physical energy-momentum tensor of this field is derived in terms of the scalar theory. In particular, it is found that the energy density, as defined in the previous paper, is identical with that given by the physical energy-momentum tensor ...
